WELCOME TO THE SON Shine ROOM

I thought it would be great to have a place where we could all share our stories of faith. Limiting stories to either personal or those related by a friend or missionary. Relate how you became a Christian, or how He has shown Himself faithful in your life. The goal is, for these true stories, to build faith and a renewed resolve to following Him more closely.

Some cools stuff Sgt. Ironhorse!  I have a friend that was in Argentina at a crusade and the evangelist called out that God was going to heal some people of obesity. He said he saw a lady shrink right in front of him, to the point she had to wrap her skirt around herself to keep it from falling off.

I just took a peek at that show. Does it come on television? I've never seen it before!

My daughter loves to read the magazine "Angels on Earth" which is wonderful true stories of miracles.

Sgt. Ironhorse - start praying! It could happen! I had to lose mine the old fashioned way - right now I've lost 20 lbs. While never obese, I was getting heavier and heavier and it was affecting my health and my mental image of myself. I joined Weight Watchers and it's really going well. I have to pray about it though because I love to eat and some days it's a real struggle!

You can't be that old! I'm 38 - after about 30 it seemed like I gained weight every year even if I didn't change my eating habits. It was a bummer because I say again I love to eat! LOL

The fact is, all of us should have signs following us.  Mark 16:17 says, "These signs shall follow them that believe." We are all to do exploits in His name.  Jesus said we would do greater signs than He did.

clo, thank you for this wonderful oasis in a world of hatred, sin, and naysayers! In my almost 54 years on God's earth, I have seen so many of His great works that nothing will ever be able to cause my faith to waver. I seriously doubt that I could ever come close to remembering them all. Please check out the article in my column, "The First Six Months of My Life, Believe It, or Not". Again, eternal thanks! clo and Jojo, thanks from the bottom of my heart!!! Sgt. IronHorse, That is one powerful video, and truly shows us that God indeed works in mysterious ways!!! God bless you and all of our brothers and sisters in Christ!!!
Even though I have been disabled since 1993, I took care of my late mother for the last 11 years of her life. I did have some assistance from some family members, but I was her primary caregiver. She had many health issues including Alzhiemer's. This took place from 1994 until her death in 2005. I went to awaken her early one morning in 2000 or 2001, and she was unresponsive, she was breathing normally, and;was not overly warm to the touch. I called 911 and she was transported to the local hospital less than 5 miles away. After some quick lab work, it was determined that she had a serious infection that had spread from her bladder to her circulatory system. Our doctor immediately started a very strong antibiotic IV. Throughout the day her vital signs had deteriorated to the point that we were told to expect the worst. Late that afternoon I went to the courtyard accompanied by my daughter. She sat beside me on the bench and put her arm around my shoulders. I lost it for a couple of moments, pulled myself together and silently asked God to intervene. Less than an hour after returning to Mom's room;her vitals began a sharp improvement, and, within two hours she was sitting up in the bed, fully alert! Our doctor came in a short while later, and, could not believe her eyes! The "Great Physician" had snatched my Mom from death's door! God bless you all!

Your testimony shows God's blessings on us. Remember that prayer works. I know sometimes when I lay down at night, I have so many to pray for that I cannot remember, But HE knows, and all we have to do is say "Lord you know who needs prayer, all the unspoken, you know!"

Terry, God Bless you and we love having you here. You are a part of our family in Christ Jesus!

Clo, I want to thank you for this!  What a great opportunity to share our faith and counteract the negative atheists!  We know that our REDEEMER lives and celebrate Jesus everyday.

I am a Southern Baptist, now.  It was in the Free Methodist Church that I gave my life to our Lord when I was just 12 years old.  I have never regretted it and I'm a great-grandmother now!  GG

CLO - I've been doing a bit of posting today and have experienced spiritual warfare first hand! It is amazing and VERY scary that there is so much hatred, anger, ignorance, and devil-inspired people in this country. I posted the Sinner's Prayer in one of my posts and received such unveiled anger and hatred. We must not stop praying for all who don't know Jesus and reflect His Glory in all we do and say.
Have a blessed day!

Christine,
Thanks for your comments! Remember they are not rejecting you, but rejecting HIM. Kick the dust off of your feet and continue on. I am encouraged by your comments about prayer and reflecting His glory. I know the rewards are tremendous when we actually are part of helping someone know our Lord. I believe God has reserved a special joy for those who will take part in the harvest. The harvest is always plenteous, but the laborers are few! Blessings!

clo,
twice I have tried to comment, and twice someone knocked at my front door and I just got free,
I just want to say that I could not imagine my child choking in front of me!And to Call on the name of Jesus! Wow! that sure made a believer out of you! It would a lot of people but the difference with you and other people is you stayed with Him,and you love Him and I see this when I read your posts on other blogs. You do Love the Lord, and that you have been with Him ever sense!
We all here have a lot to be thankful for!
God Bless!

Jojo50,
The story about my daughter choking was not about my conversion. When she was choking, I was already a Christian for 4 or 5 years. I also want us to relate things that happened to us as believers or as a result of being saved. We all have had trials and we can relate our testimonies to each other and encourage one another as a result.

OK,mis understood, but you know that is still a wonderful story, Sorry. You know clo, my biggest mistake is that when my older kids was young, I was a believer but I wasn't, do you know what I'm saying. My heart is so sad that I did not raise them in a Christian home. And prayers are always said for them. They don't want me to talk to them about it so I pray.I am so happy that your children have known that and i am sure they will always remember. My older kids don't have that memory so right now I am hoping that they can see a change in me and that they will listen to God calling them. And i will say this ,I think that the best inheritance that we can leave our kids is that they were raised knowing the word of God and I believe it will always be in them.
And in these times we can encourage each other because there are times when i do feel I'm getting weak.

And I will say when I found this article, I was so pleased, because I have found myself on some that I shouldn't have been. Just a lot of hateful comments. And this one is like Heaven sent.

Joy,
No problem with the miscommunication! Maybe I was not clear enough about the intent of this post. Anyway, no harm, no foul! Thanks for your heartfelt comments! About your kids. I believe it is never too late and God always hears our prayers for our children. He knows exactly what it takes to turn them around and, if you keep believing, He will not fail you. I am happy to know you sis, and know I will see you in glory some day. Blessings!

Sgt. IronHorse,
There is a very small church down the steet from my house that says on their sign" Give the devil an inch and he will become the ruler" Ephesians 6:13 "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand."
The sheild of Faith-The Blood of Jesus Christ!

During a prayer time at our church recently the Holy Spirit spoke to me about this Psalm; I have been trying to pray it on a daily basis for our nation since.  I believe it is so fitting for such a time as this.  I am amazed at how He is assembling His believers.  God is Awesome.

Psalm 2 (NIV)

Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? (Psalm 2:1)

The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One. (Psalm 2:2)

"Let us break their chains," they say, "and throw off their fetters." (Psalm 2:3)

The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. (Psalm 2:4)

Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, (Psalm 2:5)

"I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill." (Psalm 2:6)

I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son ; today I have become your Father. (Psalm 2:7)

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. (Psalm 2:8)

You will rule them with an iron scepter ; you will dash them to pieces like pottery." (Psalm 2:9)

Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. (Psalm 2:10)

Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling. (Psalm 2:11)

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (Psalm 2:12)

proud American,

I also love that psalm.  Especially where He says, "Ask of me and I will give you nations, as an inheritance for you".  God has been telling me to ask Him for "God sized" things.  Ask Him for what is impossible for man, for what is impossible for man is possible for God.  My heart breaks for the lost and, as always, the laborers are few.  We need to pray to the Lord of the harvest that He will send laborers.  We also must be engaged in the discipling of our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the entire world.  Just one sold out believer can turn the world upside down.

I appreciate the word!

Clo,  Absolutely!  The winds of revival are blowing! And yes he is calling His laborers to get out of their comfort zone and begin to reach out to the lost.

I recently had an experience I'd like to share.

My hubby works in the sound booth in our church, we have twin boys (13).  Each week they take turns and one gets to be in sound with dad, a few weeks ago the one who didn't get to be in sound was mopey and complaining a bit, anyway during our worship service, he was grudgingly standing up next to me, with his hands in his pockets, you know how kids do.  I put my arm around him and as we were standing there together a tiny, wispy, whiter than white feather appeared right in front of us! We looked at each other with our mouths hanging open and I stuck my hand out to let it fall into my palm, it was beautiful.  I held it for him to see and I smiled and said "There are angels in the room"  He got the biggest grin and started looking around.  He then asked if he could go and show it to his brother and dad, on the way back to our seats it disappeared out of his hand.  Well a couple of weeks later during a prayer time in another room of our church, another feather appeared in the air in the room where they were praying!  Then during another worship service I saw a vision of feathers raining down like snowflakes, yet they were not piling up on the floor.  I immediately thought of the scripture in Isaiah were he sees the holy of holies and the vision of the cherubim and their wings, saying Holy, Holy, Holy!   To me it is a manifestation of something happening in the spirit realm.  I believe with all my heart that we will see signs and wonders, they are happening all over the world.  God is so good.

Proud American,

Thank you for sharing this testimony!  God knows what it takes to encourage each one of us.  I do believe we will see the signs and wonders spoke about in the Book.  I also believe the majority of the signs we will see will be, "AS YOU GO" miracles.  Mark 16:17, "these signs shall follow them that believe".  It is difficult to follow something that is not moving.  We must be going, sharing Jesus, and He will testify to His word through signs and wonders.  I do some street evangelism and I can tell you many true stories of how God did a wonder or a sign to win the lost.

Thanks for adding me to your friends list!

Christine...Please post the sinners prayer again.  I'm new to the Sonshine Room, but not a new Christian.  I'm 71 now, and have been a Christian since age 12.  God bless everyone who comes to the Sonshine Room to share our faith and prayers.

I'm a Southern Baptist, and we just held Revivals in all our churches in the area here in Oklahoma.  Many of us committed to praying every night and day for it.  Many new members and new souls for Christ are being welcomed because of this effort.

God always answers prayers...sometimes he says yes, sometimes he says no, and sometimes he says maybe, and tests our faith.  GG

clo, All I can say is that 5 years ago I guess you could call me a wine-o and drug user, I loved pain pills! And you could say I had made a mess of my life and at one point in my life I was down as low as I could get. I was just coming out of an marriage that was abusive and had a small daughter and I would pray but I knew that I could not go to Him just in times of trouble! I began to come back up,but still had the bottles of wine and the pain killers that I loved so much. And He spoke to me one night ,asking me what I was doing raising my child like this. The next morning my little one and I was in a church, been there ever sense was Saved by the blood of Jesus 4 years ago and now still growing in His love and truth! No more wine and no more pain killers. My life is so good now, don't get me wrong, I still go up the mountains and I know He is waiting for me when I get down that mountain. We have everyday problems just like before, but he guides me and I handle things so different now.
There is a song that we sing in church from time to time called" That person doesn't live here anymore"
I needed a Saviour and Jesus found me and I listened. And I thank Him every day for that!
There is also another song that I listen to called "Take a walk with Jesus" and and he is waiting for us to walk with Him!

I guess I will get this started! When my daughter was between 2 and 3 years old, I went downstairs to use the bathroom. This was out of the ordinary, because I always used the bathroom upstairs, because it was larger and I was the one who built it. On this day, for some reason, I went downstairs. I could hear a light scratching sound on the other side of her bedroom door. I opened the door and found her on the floor and choking to the point there was no air going in or out of her lungs and she was beginning to turn blue. I tried the Heimlich maneuver to no avail and also tried, unsuccessfully, to fish whatever it was, out with my fingers. I had her with her feet on the sink and facing the mirror, because of the Heimlich. I then said one word. JESUS! Something came flying out of her mouth and went around and around in circles in the sink. A quarter! She began breathing and her color returned to her face. Praise Jesus! A few more minutes and I would have lost my daughter and I am forever thankful to Him.

jojo50 - I rejoice at your salvation! You were in the pit and you reached for Jesus - He was then able to pull you out! Amen! However, just because we are saved by the Blood, we are still human and still sin. It's by the Grace of God that we are forgiven for these sins, we are made aware of them and can turn away from them on a daily basis. Grace is the unasked for, undeserved gift from the Lord that He gave to us through His Son Jesus. The joy and peace that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus is better then any pills or wine on this earth! I used to drink quite a bit myself but have found that I receive more in my daily walk with Jesus then any alcoholic beverage could ever provide.

My own story is.... I was raised Catholic in Minneapolis and dutifully attended until I left for college. Then I started experimenting with drugs and alcohol, all the while putting on the good show for my family and completing my degree in music performance. I married an African-American against my family's wishes and suggestions, had a child, did more drugs and drinking and never quite became the classical musician I thought I would be. After divorcing and moving to Miami 10 years later to start over, I began to realize something was missing in my life and started to go back to Catholic church. After becoming involved in the music ministry, I had an affair with a fellow church member and musician who I found out was married and had 2 children. After about 6 months the Holy Spirit convicted me of my actions and I ended the relationship. I also never went back to Catholic church! Several years later I remarried to a wonderful God-fearing/loving man and moved to Naples, FL. While at my job as a legal assistant I was introduced to a paralegal who invited us to her church, First Baptist of Naples. We felt so welcomed there and joined a bible study. I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior a couple of months later and was baptized in the Gulf of Mexico there in Naples. Since then we have relocated to Greensboro, NC and have joined Holly Hill Baptist Church in Burlington. I truly feel God has relocated us here because He is molding our character in order to be of more use for Him and to join Him in His work. I am now teaching English as a 2nd language to Spanish speakers 1 night per week and learning Spanish myself. My walk with the Lord has expanded so much since moving here and I feel even closer to Him then ever. I honestly can't wait to be able to see His face and touch the hem of his garment! Amen!

Let know more of you and your walk....
    Have a blessed day!

WOW, we all have stories showing the power of God, and you know I was so blessed because I was in my 50's when He saved me and I think about how He could have just walked away from me and not called on me anymore, that is what I think about a lot, because I to was raised in the Catholic church and walked away. And I to did not go back. But I am very lucky I had a praying mother that never gave up on praying that I would go back to God, and it did not matter to her that I did not choose the Catholic Church. And believe me I know that I am still a sinner, and that is something that we need to pray about, although I don't or try to sin on purpose, but I do mess up !
And as your post up top, we all have been were you where on these blogs, there are a lot of people that really hate us and God! And it is so sad.
I believe that we all are ready to see HIM, I am. Lets all pray for one another and for those who don't know the Lord!

    God Bless!

1st John says, "I wish beloved that you sin not, but if you do sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous" "If we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness."

What I think is really cool about our God is that He can save each and every one of us in a unique way. They say that every snow flake is unique and there are none identical. He puts His personal touch into everything He does. We all are saved by the cleansing atonement of Jesus Christ, but, how He got us there is unique. You could line up every believer that ever called on the name of Jesus, past, present and future, and we would find God's unique touch that makes every experience unique. No two would be exactly the same. He is AWESOME!

The bible says that none come to the Heavenly Father, except if he is drawn by the Holy Spirit. It is by grace that we have been save, by grace, not by works, lest any man boast. We can never take any credit for our salvation. We did not get saved because we were spiritually hungry or some kind of work or good works of our own. It is a sole product of God's grace! He draws us to Himself! Our part is to respond and yield ourselves to Him.

    renderedtruth,
    Thanks for your comments!
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus clearly states that our righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisee. We claim no righteousness of our own, but by the grace of God. We are hidden in Christ Jesus. My favorite scripture is
    II Cor. 5:17-21
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
    2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2Co 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

I also like what James had to say about faith and works.
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

The scriptures demand that we show proof that we are saved. Jesus said that a tree is known by its fruit. The Apostle Paul put it this way.
Act 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

It is not good enough to have a religion. We must have a relationship that infiltrates every fiber of our being. Our relationship with the Creator must change every aspect of our lives. Otherwise we took His Name in vain.

    clo,
Shortly after we,my husband , my little one and I was going to church together, we had a friend that we use to drink with tell us that church was for losers! Jesus not only saves us through his Grace, but he also cleans out the clutter in your life, the things that can pull you back to where you were. And the funny thing about that is we really don't see this happening till it is completely removed. And if that person ever said that to me now ,I would with no hesitation say, no I am the winner now! I have a promise from our Lord Jesus Christ that says I will have ever lasting Life in Heaven!
And the things that are removed from our lives are not of our works, but of His. The first thing that was cleaned up on me and it happened just like that was my MOUTH! And I could not believe that ,that happened like that. I don't think that we could take a habit and just not do it anymore without the Holy Spirit working in us!

    My salvation experience.

Before Christ, I was a very angry man. I did a lot of drugs and alcohol and had suicidal tendencies. There were times that I go so angry that I punched the dashboard of my car until it caved in and, to my shame, I ripped car doors off of their hinges in the heat of rage. I hurt everyone that I cared about and if I knew you more than a few minutes we would argue or physically fight. Thank God that was the old me!

One day, after arguing and hurting everyone that I knew (I was fighting with my dad, my girlfriend and the rest of my family), I ran outside to the top of a hill behind my parents house. I was crying and punching the ground and screaming loudly towards heaven. I yelled, "God, if you love me you will help me." "If you made me, you can remake me!". I followed both of these statements with, "I know you love me and that you made me.". Jesus then revealed Himself to me and asked me to be part of His bride, the church. I accepted His invitation and I felt what seemed like a fire and fizzy sensation go from my feet and slowly move upward until my entire body felt warm and tingly.

I went to bed that night and when I woke up the next morning, it was like I was looking through a different set of eyes. All of my circumstances were exactly the same, but everything seemed different. Sounds were sharper, colors were brighter and I felt more alive than ever before. From that day forward, I never did any drugs, didn't want to die, never got drunk, and never lost my temper again. I definitely was not perfect, but the debilitating issues in my life were miraculously gone and never came back. That is why my favorite scripture is II Corinthians 5:17; If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, the old things are passed away and behold all things become new and all things are of God.

I am grateful for Him! I will always live my life as a praise to His name! I am not bragging on me, but I always love to brag on Jesus. Thanks for reading this! Clo

We are not bragging on ourselves, we are telling ,giving testimony of what He has done for us. It is all about "HIM" and his love and Power. And we are lifting Him up, none of this is our doing, Your story is so sad . And when you said God you made me you can remake me and how Jesus revealed Himself to you, That is were His Power is, Once you have that feeling that Jesus is who He says He is, you know! And yes the Born Again Christian will know the meaning of 11 Cor. 5:17. You are a new creature!

Made me think of that song again" That person doesn't live here anymore!"

I have had some not so good things happen to me....Things I did not deserve nor want to happen. But I can not place the blame on God. People with hardened hearts and their self satisfying choices did those things to me. Not God. I could never blame God. But that's me and I know from whom all my blessings flow.He never said life with him would be easy, only that he would be with us always.

"The thief cometh to kill, to steal, and destroy." "I am come that you might have life and it more abundantly" Life to the max! Jesus did promise us life to the max! We have a relationship with the God that spoke, ex nehilo (out of nothing) and created all that we can touch and see. Just that one thing! Our relationship with Him. Nothing compares to that!

    Extremist Moderate,

I sense taht you struggle, like many of us who know the Lord but have had questions that stare us in the face which never seem to be answered and each time there is even attempt to do so , it never sets the heart at peace. I have struggled with them, and I believe that every child of God goes through this dark alley where multitudes of voices of doubts and accusations are thrown at us. But it is a part of the journey of every child of God, where God trains us in faith and sort of tempers our faith like the steel is tempered through the heat to becomes strong and unbreakable.
In those times to keep your eyes on Jesus is the only thing that will cause you to stand. Jesus said that He came to declare the Father, and if you've seen Him, you've seen the Father.
The major attempt of satan, the archenemy of God, is to accuse Him, and to discredit his carachter. So, if he can do this, by planting doubts in the mind of a new believer about the carachter of God, that is the most dangerous point in this believer's life, and his salvation depends on it, whether he will stay or leave the faith.
The true child of God knows Father's voice, and will come through the storm, but we must hold on to Jesus , keeping our eyes on Him.
There are in this present life things we will never understand: things we see around, the evil being present everywhere, those innocent ones who suffer, the tragedies that happen even to the ones who didn't do evil... All this is overwhelming, and satan has plenty of ammunition to blame God and attribute those things to Him, so the faith of those who may have received the word gladly, will be choked and extinguished (read Mathew 13, parable of seed an the sower, it explains a lot).

But this is what I've come to understand through my struggle with questions: I will never see the whole picture till I see Him face to face. I know that God never intended the people He created to love and fellowship with Him to live in world cursed by sin. Man caused it, by straying and disobeying Him, becoming self willed and rebellious. And because man listened to the enemy, satan, and done his will ,satan gained some advantages, and rights over the creation of God. Not that God had to give to him, but because of God's pure holiness and his justice, he could not ignore it, but allowed it, and in His infinite wisdom he included it in His plan to bring His purposes to pass. And after Jesus came and finished His work of redemption on the cross, the human race was being set free from that curse, that is, all those who come and accept His free gift. But the creation is still under the curse and will be till the Lord Himself descends from heaven, His feet touching the same place in Jerusalem from where He was lifted up to go to the Father.

And because of this curse, we are now in this valley of tears, and we, who belong to Him are strangers and foreigners, awaiting with longing for His appearing (That's why those who are not His enjoy it so much in this corrupt world, because they are part of it). Jesus did say that all those things (the ones we are seeing before our eyes now) must come to pass. But none of this is His doing. His word said that we through much of tribulation must enter the kingdom of Heaven, but in another place it also says that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. In this last statement lays our assurance of Him who promised , and because we know He is faithful, and we know he does not lie we wait we look to Him in hope, fixing the eyes of our hearts on Him. And He says to our souls "be still and know that I am God" and "behold, I am with you even to the end".

I wanted to write to you those things, because after I read it couple days ago, I could not forget it. So I thought Lord wanted me to write it to you. I hope you come back to read it . God bless, friend, and take care!

    Hello, Friends!

And it is a very blessed thing to come somewhere and find only friends! It i so amazing what God has done in our lives, each one individually and then to share it with one another, to build each other up, and be the rays of sunshine in each others lives.

I read your testimonies yesterday, and every one touched me deeply. And I thought about myself, my own story. And this morning, as I thought about joining the conversation with you all, I've seen what you wrote, Clo... how each story is unique, like each snowflake that differs from the other, yet each so beautiful and perfect in design. I often wrestle with the thoughts, how is it that people can not see the fact that everything that exists bears God's fingerprints. It truly takes a fool to believe in his heart there is no God, but a little child can see Him!

This is where my story begun. I grew up in little country of Croatia, previously part of Yugoslavia. I spent my childhood in little town called Zupanja, with gravelled roads, cobblestone sidewalks, red brick shingle roofs, and fenced up yards with all kinds of animals running freely in them and streets because people left them open so they could roam, since we didn't use cars, but wagons with horses. I mostly feared gooses chasing me when I went to school every day. We had a willow tree in front of the house, and I sat there often for long time, just being quiet, throwing rocks into a small stream beside it. In those times I remember feeling God's presence and His spirit speaking to me, revealing to me things that , I knew later in life, I could never have understood on my own..I went to Catholic Church, the only churches there were around. Only later I found out there were other churches. They, the Catholic Church had, and still have strong hold on that society, and in whole Europe, mostly.

I left my faith and dulled my heart for the years later and done my own thing, moving to Germany on my own, found job, got self sufficient and forgot the tender years of my childhood and the voice that beckoned me then. But even then, at certain times of year, when everything was coming to life, and I've seen the trees budding, and flowers opening up, when the air was charged with presence of new life, my heart had longing, and I remember myself running to church on some Sundays, my friends looking in amazement! But it never lasted long, because "real world" drowned that longing out..

I married American service man in Berlin. We had a little daughter, and that's how I came to this country. My life was anything but happy, but when I found out that I could never live my life with a man of his carachter, I found myself alone, in foreign land with my child and I felt lost, totaly alone in hardest times in my life. But to God who never forgot that little girl under the willow tree I wasn't lost. He reached out to me, in such beautiful, personal way, and touched my life, opening my eyes, making His word real to me, and the tokens of His presence , and what He did in my soul that sunny morning of that early spring will never leave my life, my memory, my being , who I am, and it will transcend into eternity. Jesus IS real, Jesus IS the Savior, He is the only One who can heal, restore and make ones life new. He did it for me that beautiful morning, and the sun that shone, and everything that my eyes could see never looked so beautiful. And my heart was so filled with love for people that I just wept, because of the love He put in my heart for them...I couldn't grasp it, or understand it, but those were the most joyful tears of my life. I believe taht was glimpse of the love Christ has for us, and we as humans couldn't contain it in full measure, it is so powerful!..

Since those times few decades ago God has blessed my life with a family: a husband who is a true man of God, and children of whom one is also serving Him with all his heart, but our daughter is yet to come to Him, and I pray soon, before the life without Him causes her to stray to far from the faith of her childhood, into the enemy's wonderland of illusion and lies... But you know, I have come to believe, that no one comes to God unless they are desperate, untill they come to the end of themselves, and in total abandonment realize their need for Him. But He is always there, and his voice is calling. But it is in sadness and humbling of heart that we will hear Him calling us. I believe this is the human story.
And this is my story, friends, that's how I reflect my beginning of my life, when I was born again, anew in Him. Time has passed , years, and as I said, even decades. I have found that the road of life is not even and smooth. There are pitfalls in it, and there are also resting places beside it. There are also times when no one is in sight to help, or to walk along with. And other times there are those who with dusty feet limp along the way. And the warmth in their eyes and the sound in their voices
causes us to stop and not to hurry by, but linger and take the stranger's hand to help him to walk along. But then when the time passes, and you look back remembering , there is that voice inside again that reveals that it may have not been the stranger who needed the help walking, but I, and the eyes that looked with warmth which touched deep into the soul were His eyes...

So dear friends, you are there, God sent you to me, and even though we don't see each other's faces it is that love, that powerful love that transcends time, space, even life or death itself: the love of JESUS our living Lord and Saviour that unites us. And the promises he made to us are those that give us strength and will sustain us to the end. To Him be all glory and praise, forever without end!

Your friend and sister in Him!

    Nada-Hope,

That was absolutely beautiful!  You have skill with words!  Please keep using it for His glory.  I love the scripture, speaking about heaven.  The redeemed are made up of every nation, kindred and tribe.  Jesus said, "They will know that we are His, by our love for one another." Hope is a good name for you!  You give me hope!  Thanks

Nada, I was going to e-mail you and tell you to come over here! This is what we need, to be able to tell our story and to fellowship with one another. I believe that God knew we all were getting tired with what the world thinks of us, and that we needed to be able to talk to others.

Your  story is so beautiful that as usual I got tears in my eyes. It has happened a lot here on this blog. I am so blessed to be here. God knows what He is doing here.

    Dear Christine,

Thank you for your welcoming words, and invitation of friendship. I rejoiced in your story , in the grace and mercy of God He bestowed on you and gave you a new life. I have been filled with awe reading the testimonies of all of peopel on this post, and it has brought sunshine to my soul. I have read in your post above where you said you encountered attacks and hateful lashouts for the Name of the Lord on another blogs. I too have encountered the same. I have never known that there is such hatered and animosity toward Christianity and the Lord Jesus Christ out there, untill I went to those news blogs speaking in behalf of our faith. I guess I am still in shock, and it has shaped even more my understanding of the condition our society is in. But, dear sister and friend, we have the testimony of the risen Lord and the evidence of His power is in our lives, because only He could transform lives the way He did ours.
There is a song that I love, (I call it the Anthem of the saints)has these words standing out: Holy, Holy,Holy , tho' the darkness hide Thee, tho' the eyes of sinful men Thy glory may not see, only Thou art holy, there is none beside Thee, perfect inn power in love and purity!... Here is the real reason they can not see Him is because the darkness in their hearts. May the Lord have mercy on them, open their eyes, and give them repentance that they may not be lost for eternity...
But we know what we have, and this fact will no one take from us. And he has given us to each other , here on this page to encourage, build up and comfort one another. God bless you, and thank you for being here! :)

I have seen and heard Satan, and I have known demons. I have also been inspired and exhorted by angels, and twice Jesus has held my hand very, very firmly while I first crumbled, and then ultimately coalesced. I'm sorry I still can't speak coherently of all this, but I am very grateful I came upon this thread. Thank you all! God Bless Us All!!

      worldnightboy,

This is the scripture to live by, so we can concentrate on the positives.

      Php 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

      Php 4:5

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

      Php 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

      Php 4:7

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

      Php 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

      Php 4:9

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

THANK YOU!! I had a very unsettling, yet profoundly powerful and clarifying dream last night, and the lesson I earned out of that hard-fought dream was essentially what you summarized in the lessons of these Scriptures just now! WOW!!! Very certainly, you can know, I'm starting to get it, starting to see it, starting to feel it, and definitely coming out of my darker and selfish side, and rejoicing more and more that God does love me! You've no idea...some things ....but now! And forward! Thanks, clo! You are tremendously considerate, if not prescient!

      worldnightboy,

I am happy for you!  Thanks for all of your kind comments.  We are just a vessel.

      2Th 2:16

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

      2Th 2:17

Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work

      Heb 2:17

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Heb 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

      Heb 7:25

Wherefore, He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing ever liveth to make intercession for them.

It is always a cool truth that Jesus Himself is always praying and intervening in our lives.  He knows what it is like to be on this earth and is easily touched by our feeling of weekness.  He has suffered far beyond what any of us have experiences and He provides us with wisdom, strength and comfort in all of our journey here on this earth.

      Keep the faith brother!

Clo, thank you! I am trying every day to keep the faith! Its there, beyond my at times rocky will, outside of me, yet permeating me in an almost subconscious way. There is something beyond words and thought/ understanding that has many times shown me a bedrock certainty exists and is always looking out for me. I am, and have long been, such a weary traveller at times, and such an empty, lonely and lost wanderer but I have this backdrop of spiritual reassurance now that simply baffles and amazes me, and finally I now just press on in faith and hope, still a man, but a better man. I am in no way yet able to successfully integrate all that I've experienced, but I just press on in this faith that I first realized as a little boy, often cursed and doubted as I grew up, and tried to interpret or ignore when I lost so much, so deeply during my many years. No avail, lol! It always was there, and I finally and profoundly woke up a little over 2 years ago, and it is more salient each day now. I still have a force of independence and separateness, but feel a larger, deeper, and much more caring force is loosely guiding my life now. I am still me, unfortunately to some degree, but I am also convinced I really underestimated and misunderstood myself and this bedrock force too long. Yes, you can be sure I am trying every day to keep the faith, brother!

Please relate experience that happened after you were saved.

I traveled to Bulgaria on a missions trip and I will attempt to relate how God worked while we were there. On one occasion, we had 10 people on our team and only 5 translators, as none of us spoke Bulgarian. We were in a building that U.S. building codes would allow maybe 200 people, but we had 350. Whenever you had an alter call in Bulgaria, almost everyone would come to the front and ask for prayer. On one of these occasions one of our team was without a translator. He was approached by an elderly man that was flanked by two elderly ladies. He could not ask the man what he needed, so he prayed a simple prayer. "Father, I ask for whatever this man is asking for and I ask for it in Jesus' name." The man began to yell, "slava na Boga" over and over. We found out that this man had not spoken in 12 years. His first words were "slava na Boga" translated GLORY TO GOD!

Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He went around doing good and destroying the works of the devil. Praise God! Slava na Boga!

SLAVA NA BOGA! I neka se Njegovo Ime slavi u cjelom svijetu!!

The same words mean the same thing in my native language!!! This is just amazing, as this whole story is so amazing. It shows what God will do among those with humble hearts who see their need for Him...Those people are so hungry for God! They have lived for so long in spiritual void, and there is an emptiness in their lives. When someone comes and tells them the truth, their hearts respond. They know what is like to be empty and lonely. An that draws them to the Lord.
I think that in all those countries there is a ripe harvest for God. My heart is going out to them, and I think my life will never be fulfilled on this earth untill I go and be among them, and look into their longing eyes, and tell them of the love that God has for them, and Jesus Christ His son who came to save them, because they are so beloved by Him!!!

      hope51,
SLAVA NA BOGA! Wow! This is wonderful sister! I experienced many more things in Bulgaria. My life will never be the same from my time there. You and I, and I am sure many more, have the same broken heart for those who are lost and without Jesus. I love the Bulgarian people, but God gave me a special love and burden for the Bulgarian Gypsy people. Let me relate another short story from our trip there, concerning a service at a Gypsy' church. It was a place about 1 hour away from Parvomay, Bulgaria. (I might have the spelling wrong) We met in the trailer that was converted into a church. They left the back door open so people could stand outside to hear, because the place was very crowded. My buddy was to preach that night, and had already started preaching. I was sitting over to the side and God was stirring my heart and filling me with this incredible love for the Gypsy. On the inside, I felt like I was going to explode. I actually prayed and said, "Lord, If I am not able to share your love with these people, I will explode here on this spot.". Just then, the brother that was preaching walked over to me and said, "Brother, whatever God is putting in your hear to do,.....Do it!". I had not prepared prior to this, but it was clear to me what to say. The Holy Spirit was having His way!

The cool part of this story is what happened next. I was preaching for about 20 minutes and this 26 year old Gypsy lady came running to the front and stopped in front of me. She exclaimed, "I cannot wait any longer, I have to get my heart right with God, NOW!". We stopped and prayed with her and tears were running, like rivers, down her cheeks. After this, I had her turn around and tell the people what God had done in her life. There was not a dry eye in the place. I was a basket case. That night, 20 people made a decision to follow Jesus, there were healings and miracles that could not be denied. SLAVA NA BOGA!

Remember our experience is not our reason but God himself in Christ is. It is God who saved us and will protect us. "Not by our works that no man can boast." he keeps us eternaly "No one can snach my sheep from my hands." Praise God for all things "That work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose."

      Good Morning Brothers and Sisters,
I was sitting thinking about what God has done for me after that wonderful day that He saved me, and I have to say that was the greatest day of my life! That is the greatest thing that He has done for all of us.
And I will say that I have been healed by Him also. Had a disease with my kidneys a year ago , the doctor said it would be very painful for me and that I might have to go in the hospital. The Lord knew my problem with pain killers and when the doc gave them to me, that night I was up walking the floors, having kinda like panic attacks. At church the next night, I went up to get prayed for, and I went up believing in God's word and the next morning when I got up the horrible back pain was gone and I have never had a problem with it after that.
Since then my husband has had a heart attack and has been in the hospital three times, and his heart disease is very aggressive at this point, and if he has any other problems then it is open heart surgery, but I believe that the Lord is going to get us through this. And of course now we are faced with the horrible bills from that. Sometimes I feel that we no sooner climb that mountain and when we get to the bottom, the is no valley, we just start going back up another mountain. But I know that Jesus is taking every step that I am and I know that he will be there for me every inch of the way.And I know that whatever happens is His will and that He knows what He is doing and it is the best thing for us! I do believe that we all have been there, and going through the trials of life, sometimes we fail but when we get through it ,it makes us stronger in our Faith, and we learn to hand our troubles over to Him.
And we need to remember to Thank and Praise Him everyday for all He has done for us!
And we know that one day we will not have to go through any of the things of this life, for where we are going "There will be no more tears, sickness, death, sorrow, pain", nothing like it is here! And we can say we made it "HOME".

      May I add scripture here?
Hebrews13:5 "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
Makes me think of "Footprints in the Sand" which is one of my favorite poems of God! I know that Jesus has carried me through many, many trials of my life!

      JoJO, dear friend!

Your posts always make me glad, because your love for the Lord and faith in Him shows through them. Your words reflect mine, and I say the same as you did! There is nothing in this world to compare to the gift God has given to us in sending His son Jesus Christ to redeem us, and if He never did anything else for us, , but only redeemend us from everlasting damnation, it would be enough, and deserving of living our lives for Him, honoring Him the rest of our days. .
But becuse His love is so endless, He's done even more, by becoming our father, friend, counseler and our help in time of need. I know that God will help and sustain His people no matter what lies ahed on the road, and He will be with you through it all. God bless and keep you. :)

Good morning - Bueno dias! (I'm learning Spanish...) Here is my most recent experience of the Holy Spirit working in me.

After living in Miami and Naples, FL for 15 years I had developed an animosity towards Latins, in particular, Cubans. I felt that - damn it, if they come here they need to speak the language! That feeling leaked into my thoughts and expanded into a general overall disgust for Latins, no matter their country of origin. After I was saved in October 2005 while living in Naples, this feeling started to dissipate, but never completely went away. This past March (I now live outside of Greensboro, NC) I was reading an article in a cooking mag about a woman in the Yucatan Peninsula who offered a cooking vacation in her home to learn the regional cuisine. As I read this I was filled with an overwhelming feeling of love for the people in the story which expanded to a feeling of love of Latin people in general. I realized, looking at a picture of an old woman selling veggies in the market, how beautiful she was. My heart was convicted of my feelings of disgust and hatred against Latins and the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to my wrong thinking/feeling. I was filled with love for the Latin people right then and there, all the while sobbing and alternatively thanking Jesus and apologizing for my past thoughts, actions, words, etc.

The following day at bible study prior to service I was thinking I need confirmation of this new revelation. We opened our bibles to John 4 - the story of Jesus speaking to the Samaritan woman at the well. THERE IT WAS! CONFIRMATION! If Jesus would reach out to a people group who were historically shunned by the Jews and offer her the Living Water, then who am I to be prejudiced against Latins?! I cried and thanked the Lord all through the class. As I was walking into service, a close friend handed me a pamphlet from the local Baptist association and she said 'read this' - they were requesting immediate teachers for their ESL program for Spanish speakers! CONFIRMATION! The Lord was showing me where He was working and asking me to join Him. YES LORD - I GET IT! I started attending the ESL classes as an observer as there was an older lady already teaching and because I didn't speak Spanish. After 2 months I was getting discouraged because I really wasn't doing any teaching, just watching. UNTIL the Monday after Mother's Day I received a call from the language program director saying the older lady who had been teaching passed away that weekend. She asked if I would take her place and said she honestly felt the Lord brought me to them to continue and expand the ESL program! I was overwhelmed and said of course I would. The classes and students (we have 2 at the moment) have been a blessing to me in many ways and I am now studying Spanish to better communicate with them.

We don't know the mind of God so I have no idea if this will lead to others areas where I will need to speak Spanish, but I will continue in this work until the Lord tells me otherwise.

      Oh Christine,
That is wonderful, I at times think, where is God going to use me. That I am not sure yet. But I know that he has a path for me and I need to just sit back and He will show me in His time. He does convict us when something is not right, it just happened to me not to long ago, and my dear friend Hope, Nada has helped me there. God sent Nada to me I believe in my heart,. We all need a strong Christian in our lives to help and God uses Nada in more ways then she knows! And I believe that that is why God showed Clo to start this blog, so we all can help some one and just to be able to fellowship and uplift our Lord Jesus is giving us to be strong in the days to come.

      Christine,

this is such a beautiful testimony of God's work in our lives. So many times God uses the very oblticled, trials , even the thorns and bondages that satanhas sown in our lives, to turn them around into something beautiful: in your story I see how He took the bondage of hate into overflowing love that He placed in you for Hispanic people. Who could do this but only Lord Jesus! I can't find words to express how great God is!

P.S. to post to Christine: I meant "obstacles" (sorry) :)

      Christine,
It is wonderful that He continues to work on us. He is never finished! We are continually given to the potter's wheel and transfored from glory to glory and from faith to faith. Thank you so much for sharing this part of your life with us. You are truly a blessing!

Php 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Php 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus

      Hope,

You know my life was a mess back before I came to our Lord. I still strugle with things but I do know that everything is going to be OK. That is where my Faith comes in. Like clo said below He will never leave me, and I don't believe that we are ever where we need to be in the things of God, and I know that when Jesus did give me foregiveness He not only had forgiven me He forgot my sins as though they never happened, and I believe that we have to remember what we were like , before He came into our lives, but I feel that it shows to other people How He worked on us. I know that when we excepted Christ the old me died with Christ on the cross and the new me was born, but sometimes the devil comes to me and reminds me of the things I did. And that is when I have to rebuke satan in the name of Jesus! Satan does come to kill and destroy like Clo says and we need to be ready for him, so he cannot attack us. I hope I said that right.

I know that person I use to be is no longer alive, thank God! And I know that we have to be able to forgive ourselves and not have the guilt of our past.

This site like you said Hope is sunshine and a blessing from God!

      Good Morning my friends,
I want to share something with you this morning about a friend of ours. This friend was raised a Catholic and has really been through it this last 10 years. He started dating this lady who is a Christian and he started going to church with her, and it has been a year now. The other night he was over and we were sitting out back and we started talking about Jesus. And he started to cry and said to me he did not know what was going on with him. He is very faithful about going to church and he told us what is changing in his life and how he thinks about his life and Jesus now and he just does not understand his feeling this way and I mean tears were rolling down his face. I told him the Holy Spirit is in him and not to quench that Spirit. God has been working on our dear friend and we know what it is and he to will understand what it is. I told him to keep seeking that Spirit and to read God's word. I believe that he has felt God working in his life, and I am not sure but I believe that he has excepted the Lord Jesus by the way he was talking. And when he had the tears in his eyes, I felt such compassion in his heart to our Lord Jesus.
Another life where a person feels the Lord working in their lives! Praise God!

      Jojo,

Good morning to you also!  God contends with man on a consistent basis.  If we are unsaved, just got saved, or have been walking with Him for a long period of time, makes no difference.  He loved us while we were yet sinners, but He loves us too much to let us stay that way.  The bible speaks about true holiness.  In other words there is a holiness that is not true.  True holiness is when we let the Master Potter rework us and change us from the inside.  He changes our hearts and the way that we live will change as a result.  False holiness is when we sit on our fingers and try in our own strength to overcome a habit or character flaw.  When God puts his finger on an issue in our lives, it usually makes us uncomfortable and our selfish-sinful nature tries to fight the good that God wants to accomplish in us.  We must always trust Him and humble ourselves and let Him do what is best for us.  He is trying to conform us to His own image so that others will see Him in us.

      clo,

One of the things I have seen a change in is ,he is not drinking anymore. He is one of our friends that use to drink with us and he would drink till he blacked out and just pass out! And he said that he just does not want to drink any more! God is working on him and he is feeling that work, my not understand it right now but he will. He will know that God is cleaning him up as He did with all of us.

      Hello peter!

So glad you found us here.

I fail in many ways. Sometimes I feel I just speak and not do!

Our friend is doing fine. He gets down from time to time but he comes out of it. Right now he and his girlfriend has broke up and I do worry that he will stop going to church.

But so far he is going.
